Located at 237 West 54th Street, in New York City, NY, 10019, as the name suggests it had been the recording studio for Bell records, who were in the mid-1960's a prestigious label. However, the history of the studio dates far further back than that having seen many artist recorded there during the previous decades including Buddy Holly.

Located in Los Angeles, CA, The Village Recorder was only six years-old when KISS recorded there in 1974. Built in a former 22,000 square foot Masonic Temple, the studio has four separate studios, A-D, plus additional recording facilities. By 1972 the studio would be one of Los Angele's premier recording locations. It is located at 1616 Butler Avenue, West Los Angeles, CA 90025. It is amusing that Paul would return to this studio in 1978 after having had his favorite custom guitar stolen from there in 1974!
