Never Met A Woman (Penridge/Criss Alliance, 1985)

Track Notes:
** The Penridge-Criss Alliance set up in Nashville in early-1985 to record a series of demos. While Peter's involvement in the band would soon cease, severing his relationship with Stan Penridge, this would one of the songs he would record lead vocals for. Produced and written by Stan "Doc" Penridge the demo would be recorded at Cinderella Studios in Madison, TN in early 1985. Peter Criss sings lead vocals and plays precussion. Band consisted of Stan Penridge (Vocals, Guitar), Alan Woody (Bass), Benny Harrison (Synthesizer, Keyboards, Vocals), and Tony Mercadante (Guitar, Vocals). Not a rocker, neither was the song soft, building more off tradition R&B energy and style. This song dated from a batch of compositions Stan had written in 1979.

[Verse]
I used to be a lone ranger
Hot on somebody's trail
They used to say, "who was that stranger?"
But then I met you
I used to be a high roller
I'd always win, could never lose
I'd used to only buy at high hats
But then I met you

[Chorus]
Lord, it's the way you look
It's the way you make me feel
It's the things you do that you do best
It's the way you look from head to chest

[Verse]
I used to be a real cool daddy
Dressed to the nose in fine clothes
A yellow rose and silver caddy
But then I met you
I used to be a wheeler dealer
Had all them women running 'round and around
I only kiss but never feel 'em
But then I met you

[Chorus]
Lord, it's the way you look
It's the way you make me feel
Never met a woman quite like you
That would make me do the things I do

[Sax Solo]

[Chorus]
Cause it's the way you look
It's the way you make me feel
Never met a woman quite like you
That would make me do the things I do

No, I never met a woman (never met a woman)
No, I never met a woman (never met a woman)
No, I never met a woman
A woman like you

No, I never met a woman (never met a woman)
Lord, I never met a woman (never met a woman)
No, I never met a woman
A woman like you
