46.01. Room Service

Built on source material recorded in Davenport, Iowa. Since this would be the first song on the album the “Alive II” band introduction would be pasted on to the beginning of the song making the track length 3:40. One of the biggest debates in fan circles is how much work was done to the “archive” recordings for release on this album. According to Ace, “I was in the studio once, just singing on ‘Room Service,’ just fixing my part. My vocal was weak on it, so I just strengthened it. I don’t think Paul and Gene did much overdubs because it went real quick. We were more concerned with getting the right mix. The problem was, we were under so much pressure, rehearsing and trying to concentrate on the new show and all of a sudden the record company wanted us to put out two new tracks on it, too, as a bonus. We said no” (Wayne Parry).

46.02. Two Timer

Built on source material recorded in Detroit, Michigan. Like “Take Me” it is likely that Paul did some vocal work on this track in 1996 since the style of vocal delivery is not similar to how he sounded in 1975.

46.03. Let Me Know

Built on source material recorded in Detroit, Michigan. Track length is 3:36.

46.04. Take Me

Built on source material from Los Angeles, California. Like “Room Service” it is likely that Paul did some vocal work on this track in 1996 since the style of vocal delivery is not similar to how he sounded in 1977 when performing the same song.

46.05. New York Groove

Recorded live in Sydney, Australia, in November 1980 featuring Eric Carr on drums. This song would also be issued on the promotional “Blockbuster Greeting” CD.

46.06. KISS Tells All

A 17.34 interview with Jay Leno from the “Tonight Show.”

46.07. Blockbuster Greeting

Included on the “New York Groove” promotional single this track is the band members goofing around in the studio attempting to record a “Thank You” message for the purchasers of the “You Wanted The Best” CD by Blockbuster Music patrons.
